With this release, we wanted to address many of the requests and improvements revolving around the Content Library and overall UI and performance.
It’s a small and yet important update that we are sure it will improve your everyday life, and make possible some new workflow.
You can now use assets from any project where you have tagged assets with Dash! Any meshes, materials, textures, and anything related will be added to your project automatically and viewable in the Dash Content Library. Each project’s assets will be shown as a separate library but also visible in the new unified view. This means you only have to AI Tag/Compute your assets once with Dash and then they are available in all your other projects as well. And of course, you get access to the same browse/search functionality and the direct scatter/physics drop.
You can of course choose which UE projects you want assets visible for in the new preference window if you don’t want assets from all your other projects visible.
We introduced a new panel to allow you to easily add, remove, or edit any object tag in your library. When you think the automatic tagging didn’t capture the essence of the object, you can easily edit it and make it better. If you want to tag any Megascans or Poly Haven asset with something custom, you can do that too!
With the constant increase in the number of libraries you can use in Dash, we wanted to make sure you can search in all of them with ease. A faster and lighter unified view has been developed to let you browse, search, and use all the assets you have much more efficiently than before. Any library you add or remove will be searchable and usable right away from this new Unified View, and we are sure it will become your main view on all of your assets.
